Roulette Wheel

Roulette wheel was invented way back in the 18th century by French scientist Blaise Pascal. In the process of creating a perpetual motion machine he created the roulette wheel and the game roulette.

This roullete system has been reinvented and forms the basis of the current day roulette wheel and the roulette game.

The roulette wheel has 0 to 36 numbers. The numbers 1 to 36 alternate between black-red and even-odd. There are 2 versions of roulette game – French roulette and American roulette. The French roulette wheel has numbers from 1 to 36 and a 0, while the American roulete wheel has an additional pocket of 00. French roulette has additional rules like the En Prison rule and Surrender rule which differentiates it from the American version.

The roulette wheel has pockets for each number where the ball can land which decides the outcome of every game. Once all the bets are placed the croupier spins the wheel in one direction and the ball in the opposite direction to determine the winning number. When the ball loses momentum it falls into the wheel into one of the pockets.
